Everything Zella does

Zella is an anti-shame, ADHD- and anxiety-friendly daily planner for students and adults, built around a Daily Big 3. It imports your school calendar, syncs to your phone and works by voice. Here is the whole list, in plain language.

It is free right now. When paid plans arrive, founding members lock in a lifetime rate and we’ll say it plainly before anything changes.

Plan your days

A calm calendar that never turns your week into a wall of red.

  • Month, week and day views, color-coded by class or by whatever you are tracking.
  • Add anything by tapping the mic and saying it. Typing always works too.
  • Add a test and Zella offers to block study time on the days before it.
  • Set an event to repeat daily, weekly, monthly or on your own pattern.
  • Fixed-time things quietly mark themselves done once the day passes.
  • An unfinished task slides to tomorrow as a gentle nudge, never a red overdue alarm.

Connect your school

Bring a whole semester in with one link, then stop thinking about it.

  • Paste a link from Canvas, Blackboard or any tool that gives you an iCal link.
  • Your classes, assignments and due dates land on your calendar, color-coded by class.
  • It refreshes on its own, so a new or moved assignment just shows up.
  • Connect more than one calendar if you are dual-enrolled.
  • Upload a syllabus, paste a webpage or paste a group chat and Zella pulls the events out for you to confirm.
  • Disconnect anytime and its events come off your calendar cleanly.

Sync to your phone

See your Zella schedule in the calendar you already check.

  • Turn on phone sync and your schedule shows up inside your phone's own calendar app.
  • It is one-way: your private stuff stays in Zella and nothing you change on your phone flows back.
  • Reset the link anytime to shut off access.

Focus with the Daily Big 3

Pick the three things that matter today. Everything else waits.

  • Choose three things for the day, from your calendar, a goal or just off the top of your head.
  • Check them off and keep a gentle streak, with no penalty for a missed day.
  • Plan tomorrow's three the night before if you want to.
  • Yesterday's unfinished things can carry into today with one tap.

Goals and habits

Big things broken into small steps you can actually start.

  • Make a goal in one quick screen or walk through a guided version.
  • Break a goal into milestones and small steps, then name what usually gets in the way.
  • Flag the one step that matters most and it shows up first when you build your Big 3.
  • Give a step a due date and it lands on your calendar.
  • Build habits with a streak that never punishes a missed day.
  • Put a habit on your calendar on the days you want it.

Wellbeing, kept private

Check in with yourself. It stays on your device.

  • A one-tap daily mood and a simple energy slider.
  • A private period tracker with cycle predictions, symptoms and notes.
  • A private headache tracker with triggers, sleep, food, stress and what helped.
  • Gentle patterns over time, like how your energy moves with your cycle.
  • A branded health report you can save as a PDF and share with a doctor if you choose.
  • A calm reset with breathing and grounding, plus a guided meditation.
  • Your mood, energy and cycle data never leave your device. Period and headache stay on it too, apart from a simple yes/no weekly summary a student can choose to share with a parent.

Voice

The thought is gone by the time you unlock your phone. Just say it.

  • Tap the mic and your words become a calendar event, sorted to the right class.
  • Talk into any text field instead of typing, with spoken punctuation cleaned up for you.

Reminders and check-ins

A quiet nudge at the right moment, never a stream of noise.

  • Reminders before tests, study blocks and goal steps.
  • An optional morning affirmation and an evening prompt to plan tomorrow.
  • You choose which reminders you want and when. You can turn them off anytime.

Safety

A gentle hand toward help, never a report to anyone.

  • If you write something that sounds like a crisis, Zella pauses and shows the 988 line.
  • It never alerts a parent, a school or anyone else. You always choose what to do next.
  • The check happens on your device and nothing you wrote is ever sent anywhere.

For families

You decide what a parent sees. You can change your mind anytime.

  • A parent can link to your account and see a read-only academic view, if you turn it on.
  • One switch controls both the parent view and a weekly digest email. It is off by default.
  • Mood and energy are never shared. A yes-or-no weekly health summary can be shared only if you switch it on.
  • Back up all your data to a file anytime, then restore it on a new device.

Install it like an app

No app store, no download queue.

  • Add Zella to your home screen and it opens full screen, one tap away.
  • Works on any phone or computer, in about a minute.
  • It needs an internet connection to load. There is no offline mode yet.
